Don't let the rabid anti Eighties drones affect your wanderings through those fantastic years. Some of the best music the Dead ever made was in 89-90.

While not nearly technically played as badly as some late 90's some of Keith's nod off shows in the 70's are some of the biggest sleepers that exist. Seastones can sometimes be torture.

Also {GASP} some of the 60's is so disjointed and boring it is unlistenable and not everyone worships PigPen.

Don't let the few so called "experts" here form your opinions. I'd esp disregard anything anyone tells you about how awful they were post 75 when in the next breathe they will freely admit to never listening to it. In fact more of the better informed views are on the actual trading site forms.
This forum is more of a mini club of long timers to the archive. There are others of us here , including moi, who have been on the archive 7+ years and almost never post here. We just stream or d/l master AUDS
Nothing wrong with being a newbie but at least you don't have to deal with all the elitist traders back in the day. Talk about arrogant selfish dicks....thank God the archive preserves some of the finest audio recordings every made of the band.

thanks for the advice jackaroe. i assure you i don't let anyone's musical opinions affect mine. i trust my ear, and that's what i go by.

i agree about '89 and '90. i used to listen to much more '80s and and '90s, but these days it's almost primarily '67-'74, with some '75-'77 sprinkled on top. when i do venture past those years, i usually go right to spring of '90, or summer of '89.

surprisingly, i've been here since '04 but never participated in any discussions until recently. i was too busy downloading and listening to every possible minute of gd music i could get my hands on. finding this website was better than any christmas morning. presents for the rest of my life!
